2nd test,Australia Vs England,Adelaide,Day1
Today, was not the day for Australia and England was all smiles in a day of disastrous batting collapse courtesy James Anderson. Australia failed in a batting paradise.Ponting did not win any accolades for his innings but won a golden duck out of his innings and what happened next is the usual story of the new Australia cricket ,Top order fails, middle order stumbles , hussey and lower middle order to the rescue and Ponting having a rough chat with opposition player’s .
The story for the day is short anderson’s early spell spelled the disaster of the top order watson and Hussey helped restore pride but watson soon left and haddin and hussey again put up a good stand to save the Aussies but hussey fell short of a well deserved century and haddin batlled along with the poor tail which failed to wag and haddin was the last pin to fall and England started the innings and Ponting had a verbal war with his counterpart Strauss as they returning to the pavilion . Anderson finished with figures of 4/51 and great news for Barmy Army is Swann seems like regaining form finishing with 2/70 including Hussey’s prized wicket. The scoreboard @ the end of day 1 read Aus-245 ,Eng-1/0 trailing by 244 runs.
Ponting sure is unhappy
